Duties and responsibilities:
• Assisting in the general maintenance and upkeep of the drilling rig or production platform. This includes cleaning, painting, and repairing equipment and facilities.
• Assisting in the rigging and unrigging of drilling equipment, such as drill pipes, casing, and wellheads. This may involve connecting and disconnecting pipes and other components.
• Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), participating in safety meetings, and reporting any hazards or incidents.
• Participating in emergency drills and responding to emergencies or accidents as directed by the supervisor. This may involve firefighting, first aid, or evacuation procedures.
• Assisting in inventory management, including checking stock levels, documenting usage, and notifying supervisors when supplies need to be replenished.
• Collaborating with other crew members and following instructions from supervisors to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
• Following environmental policies and procedures to minimize the impact of operations on the surrounding ecosystem. This may involve waste management, spill response, and pollution prevention measures.
• Assists roughnecks and other oil rig workers to ensure they have the materials and equipment they need.
• Assists crane operators with transport of loads.
